Bringing our Tree Unit to an end
Today, we are discussing what we can use tree parts for. During this discussion, we read the story of The Three Little Pigs. Following the story-time, we broke into 5 groups that were building with tree and non-tree materials: wooden sticks; licoln logs; caly; wooden blocks; and floam.
Practicing our letters
Using chalkboards and chalk to write our letters.
Reinforcing our letter writing by using mini sponges and water to review the strokes of our lettes.
After we learned the classic song "The Farmer in the Dell", we sang and danced to it, acting out the parts of the farmer, the wife, child, nurse, dog, cat, and of course the cheese that stands alone!
Using this song, the children were now all farmers that had to build a fence to keep the animals from escaping the farm. As they sang the tune they created the shapes they sang about.

What's better then playing with play dough? Making it ourselves!
Try our class recipe at home:
1/2 cup flour (may need to add a little more)
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup water
drop of oil
